Frequently Asked Questions

Where do you get your tariff data from?

Navo uses only official U.S. government sources: base rates from the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS), additional tariffs from USTR Federal Register notices, Section 232 rates from Commerce Department announcements, and preferential program tables directly from CBP guidance. All data comes from verified government publications, not social media or news reports.

How frequently are import duty rates implented?

Navo implements tariff changes as soon as possible after publication in the Federal Register. The platform displays the last updated date for all data and includes the most current Section 232 steel and aluminum tariffs, Section 301 China tariffs, and IEEPA sanctions. Updates typically occur within 24-48 hours of official announcements. Any changes are displayed in the changelog.

What do I need to get started?

A CSV export of your master parts list that contains part number, part name, hts code, and country of origin. Accurate U.S. import duty calculations require the complete 10-digit HTS code since duties vary at the most specific classification level. You can search and add codes in Navo as you go, building a source of truth for your HTS codes at the part level.

What countries are supported?

Navo supports customs import duty calculation into the United States from most countries worldwide, including China, Vietnam, Mexico, Germany, Canada, Japan, South Korea, India, Thailand, and over 190+ other nations. Column 2 countries are not supported, including Russia, Belarus, Cuba, and Democratic People's Republic of Korea due to trade restrictions.

What counts as a "part"?

A unique part number you’ve imported into Navo.

How does Navo integrate with my ERP?

Navo currently does not integrate with ERPs. You can export an enriched CSV from Navo and update your ERP.

Do you offer a free trial?

We don’t offer a free trial, but you can share a small CSV (e.g., 50 parts with HTS code and country), and we’ll import it for a live walkthrough.

Is my data secure?

Yes, we have built Navo from the ground up with security in mind. All customer data is encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit via TLS and we apply row-level security with least-privilege access so only authorized actions are possible. All customer databases are backed up daily. You can export or request deletion of your data at any time. We never sell or share your data.
